The Idea

A week built around making music with people who love it as much as you do. It is more than studios and time: writing sessions and workshops, moments like vocal warm ups, journaling or yoga, shared meals and a place to stay, all part of one experience. No showcases, no pressure to perform, just the openness to start something new together.

The Place

A 22 hectare estate in the hills near Limoux, in the south of France. Five studios and additional writing spaces, room for workshops and sessions, a pool and open countryside a step outside the door. Everything close together, so the whole day becomes part of the creative flow.

The People

We bring together a small, carefully mixed group of songwriters, producers and instrumentalists from different scenes and countries. Shared sessions, workshops and meals keep people mixing, so you create with musicians you would never have met otherwise.

Watch
I wrote four songs there, and three are now on my album. The studios, the nature and the people all carry the true soul of Limusic.

Questions & answers

Who is a retreat for?

Songwriters, producers, artists and instrumentalists at any stage who want to create something new with others. What matters most is an open mind and the wish to collaborate.

What is included?

The retreat is all inclusive. A bed on the estate, full access to the studios and gear, all meals, and a changing programme of workshops and sessions, from vocal warm ups to journaling and yoga, alongside a hand picked group of fellow musicians and mentors. The exact line up shifts with each retreat and the season.

Water, coffee, tea and juice are included, with more drinks available on site for an extra charge. Any production fees that can arise when a track is released are not included.

How do I apply?

Choose an upcoming date above and open its application form, and tell us about you and your music, including a few of your songs. We listen to every application and get back to you with feedback. Your place is only secured once you have heard from us and your ticket is paid.

How do I get there?

The estate sits near Limoux in the south of France. The easiest way in is via Toulouse, with Carcassonne as a closer second. Carcassonne airport is served by Ryanair only, so otherwise Toulouse or the train are your best options. For Retreat IV, shuttles from Toulouse airport are included with your ticket, and we also pick you up for free at Limoux Flassian train station.
