The Retreat

Seven days of music at Limusic, deep in the French countryside. Days move between writing and recording, workshops and sessions like vocal warm ups, journaling or yoga, with shared meals and evenings of music in between. It all comes together into one complete experience, with room for new songs and new friendships to form.

01

Agenda

Each day opens with a vocal warm up and yoga, then writing sessions run in changing groups, with workshops woven through the week. A day off in the middle gives everyone time to rest.

02

Studios

Five professional studios plus live rooms and quiet writing corners, so there is always somewhere to work, whether you want a full band setup or a space to sketch an idea.

03

Accommodation

Rooms and apartments on the estate, a short walk from the studios. Twin rooms as standard, with a limited number of singles.

04

Catering

Our chef cooks three fresh meals a day from local produce, from breakfast and lunch to our shared evening dinner. We cater for dietary needs and allergies. Water, coffee, tea and juice are included.

Dates and arrival
Retreat IV runs from 22 to 28 February 2027. The 22nd is arrival day, and we open with a shared dinner around 19:30. Plan to arrive between 14:00 and 18:00. It ends on the 28th after breakfast.
Getting here
The nearest airport is Toulouse Blagnac. We schedule shuttle transfers to and from Toulouse airport, included with the ticket. On arrival day (February 22nd) shuttles leave the airport at 14:00, 16:00 and 18:00. On departure day (February 28th) shuttles leave the studio at 08:00, 10:00 and 12:00 and reach the airport about 1 hour 15 minutes later. Times may change depending on participants' flights, with around six seats per shuttle.
The closest train station is Limoux Flassian, five minutes away, where we pick you up free of charge.
Costs
Tickets are €1,428 incl. VAT for a twin room and €2,028 incl. VAT for a single room (€1,190 and €1,690 net). The price covers full participation, extra activities, catering and accommodation. Extra drinks and individual transfers are not included.
How payment works
There’s no deposit. Once your application is accepted, we send you the invoice, due within 10 days. If it isn’t settled by then, the place may pass to another applicant, so if anything comes up before then, just let us know and we’ll do our best to work it out.
Cancellations and refunds
If a retreat can’t go ahead on our side, you receive a full refund. If you need to cancel, we can’t promise a refund, but if we’re able to fill your place, we’ll refund you. The earlier you tell us, the better the chances.
Your rooms
You can book a private single room or a shared twin, and single rooms are limited. Signing up with someone you know? Tell us and we’ll try to room you together. Otherwise twin rooms are shared with someone of the same gender.
Rights, splits and fees
The songs and recordings are yours. Limusic keeps no rights and never releases what’s made at the retreats; that stays entirely with the people who created it. You work in different groups through the week, and we suggest each group agrees on splits before a session, where an equal split is often simplest. When a song is later released, producers usually charge a production fee; this is not part of the participation fee. We recommend talking it through within the group early, but Limusic is not involved in splits or fees.
A balanced group
A balanced mix of artists, writers, instrumentalists and producers is what makes a session work. We curate the group carefully, and where a role is missing we bring in experienced musicians so every session runs smoothly.
What language is it in?
The retreat runs in English.
Who it’s for
We choose the group through the application, not by track record. What matters most is being open to writing with others and starting new songs together. You don’t need releases, a manager or a publisher, but a little experience writing in sessions with other people is a plus.
